Friday 's Finds

I think I mentioned at some point and time that Ben and I needed to get our eyes checked out.
So we finally did that about three weeks ago.
Turns out mine are worse than Ben's. Who knew.
So this little lady is getting glasses.....

Not sure how I feel about that.

I was pretty much traumatized as a child having to wear gold harry potter glasses when I was in school.
Lets say I was thankful we started homeschooling the fallowing year so no one had to see those hideous glasses ever again!

Obviously I've looked at glasses in the store for hours on end and haven't found anything that I like.
Or maybe I just don't like me in glasses so everything look ridiculous.

I have been doing my fair share of looking online and came across these ...

What I want to look like
L.O.V.E. them.

You can't really tell in this picture but they aren't straight black frames. They have a bunch of brown in them which really softens them up.
I don't think I can pull off the harshness of black frames although I know a good handful of people who have them and they look smashing.
This girl also has my face shape and eye set.... I think. So I'm feeling pretty confident that I can pull these off.
Now if only I could find them somewhere. When I go to the web site where I found these it turns into Swedish!
I don't speak Swedish over here. Hello! So it's making things a touch complicated.

What I'm probably going to look like

So the search continues for the perfect glasses,
in the hopes that I won't look like a total nerd!
And
that I find them fast because my driving vision is pretty poor.
Not something I want to be a problem specially with the babes.
Wish me luck!

One last thing...
If you could spare a prayer for our friends who are in labour as we speak.
It's going to be a life changing weekend for them.
Wow.
Defiantly bringing back that feeling of excitement. Minus the pain part.
Happy friday.

Wedding. Random. Life

Source

This past weekend I was in my good friends wedding. It was absolutely WONDERFUL.
Beautiful winter wedding.
I couldn't be happier for them. I think my tears were a testament to that!
I love weddings. It always re kindles the the love in my own marriage.
I was so honour and proud to stand beside them as they said their vows and proclaimed their love to the world.

Making memories.

Wish I had more pictures.

And I can finally say, I HAVE BEEN IN A LIMO!
Pretty sure it was the best limo ride of all limo rides.
I don't think It could ever be topped.

Also realizing I forgot to post some pictures of my sisters wedding. I'll have to do that sometime this century.

This little guy just blows me away every day. I just want to squeeze him!
I had to post this picture. He's just so loveable!

I found this while I was out and about this week. I just had to get it. I also found a gift card from our wedding so I didn't have to pay a thing. Bonus!
Thank you Home Sense.

Starting to get the Christmas buzz. The drawings came out this week.
Can't wait to get our tree set up. We actually have one that is taller than my knee this year.
Samuel loves looking at all the christmas lights when we go driving.
I think a trip down candy cane lane may be in order.

One of my favourite owl things.
Also known as the "Ding ding".
Ever notice how it's all the little things that make your house awesome.

Long story short...
This is our car getting towed onto our drive way because I don't know how to drive a standard.
Soon our car will be gone and I won't get a chance to learn.
Of course now that were selling it I actually want to learn.... In the dead of winter..... When it's impossible to learn....

We spent the rest of our morning watching "diggers". Samuel was in little boy heaven.

Stopped at Ikea this week too.
Ikea!
What a magical place.

We finally have some picture frames. We have been in this house since April and still don't have a single picture on the wall. That's about to change this weekend!

Benny bought me some flowers. That doesn't happen very often.
Maybe it's potty training guilt...
Either way. I appreciate these beauties in my house!

These are one of my favourite sets of children's books.
They have the funniest illustrations.
They are simple and short.
Just the way my Sammer needs them to be.

My children while I wright this post.

Can I just say I love how both my boys are similar but different.
I love Samuel's big brown eyes and olive skin, just like his daddy.

While my Nathan has his baby blues and pale skin, just like me.

p.s. Sorry about the boogers on his nose.
I just cant seem to get away from them no matter how many time I wipe them.

Have a great week!

Sweet Baby Moments

I forgot how exciting it is when your child does something for the first time. I know I know. He just started sitting a month ago.
But that seems like ages ago now.

Nathan started crawling this morning. * Gasp *

I knew it was going to happen soon because he has been trying desperately to move forward and grasping at anything with in reach of his hands.

I just happened to look over at him chasing this toy car around the living room. As soon as he would get a hand on it , it would move further away from him and he would be on the chase again.

He is doing the same little army - floppy crawl that Samuel started out with.

It's exciting and scary.

Now that he is mobile I'm really going to start having my hands full.
Now comes the trouble.

I had to give him one big hug today as I realized I no longer have a baby but another little boy.
A part of me isn't ready to let go of the baby yet.
But it's happening weather or not I like it.

I'm praying that he still likes his cuddle time.
That seems to be the first thing that goes once they are mobile.
I'm already getting a hint of baby fever.

I said a hint!!
I know all to well what comes with it and I would like to sleep through the night before I have another one....

It's a good thing I know a lot of women having babies so I can satisfy the baby-ness.

For now I'm just going to enjoy this moment, where we are!
All is well with my soul.

Halloween

Heyo!

I've been a horrible blogger lately. I just don't seem to have any time. I adopted a teenage for a week and was running all over the place for music lessons, the gym and to hang out with his friends. Not to mention the load of things I had to do in-between.
Who knew having one more person would feel like such an added mess.

I've also slightly over booked my self. Things have just been rolling in like a title wave. Having people over every other night for supper has been great. I haven't really minded cooking ( Surprisingly ).
But I am starting to get tired of having to be "on"every day and night.. It's gonna be a little more relaxed coming up ... I think.

The hubby is on a huge league of legends kick at the moment which means he is playing games on the computer when ever he gets a chance so I never have access to the computer which hasn't been to big of a deal since I've been going to the gym or Hot Yoga every night. I'm really enjoying it.
It's almost an small addiction now.

This coming weekend is the wedding I am in. So this whole weekend is jam packed but with really good things. I'm so excited. I love the wedding party and know it's going to be a complete and utter blast! Pretty excited to wear the bridesmaid dresses. I really really like them.

Well this whole post is a back track to Halloween and all it's little adventures. So I'm gonna go ahead and post my pictures now. I know you have all been waiting to see some cutie pies.

Happy first halloween

A little painting since he is to young to carve

Roasting pumpkin seeds

We all had a great time pumpkin carving. Samuel got right into it and Nathan just tried to eat all the gross-ness.

The day before halloween, Ben and I ended up going to the " Farm of fear " with some friends. Now let me tell you. This REALLY isn't my thing. I don't like being scared. I don't like all that creepy stuff. But I did it! And I honestly gave my self a good pat on the back after surviving that whole or-deal.
I must have had a huge sign over my head that said "Pick on this one" because every room we went into the zombie, the freaky mask wearing people kept touching me and fallowing right beside me. One even fallowed me into the next room holding this weird creepy head and kept asking me to touch his baby.
Don't even get me started on chain saw guy or the man who I thought was Ben.
Pretty sure I'm done with haunted house for the rest of my life!

Halloween night we went to this big sports centre near our house. They had a bunch of in door activities. Face painting, petting zoo, hair colouring, bouncy house. Anything the kids could want, they had it. It was really nice not to be outside in the blizzarding snow, specially with Nathan.
I'm always slightly jealous of the people who post pictures of their kids trick-or-treating out side under a nice canopy of fall leaves with out a pinch of snow on the ground.
You know, the kind that wear "winter" jackets for looks, not because they will actually DIE with out it!

Samuel was a little over whelmed at all the people there and frankly so was I. It was a mad house but once we got to the gym that was strictly for young kids and had toys for their age he was right at home running wild all over the place.
He also really liked the parrot at the petting zoo. Nathan in his typical fashion, just sat there looking cute watching all the hustle and bustle.

After a while we headed back to our house to hit up the neighbours for some candy and so they could see the kids in there costumes. Ben was pretty disappointed with the lack of candy at the centre. Haha.

We seriously have the most amazing neighbours! They all love our boys since they are the only little, little guys around. So they were pretty happy when we showed up at their doors. Two of our neighbours even had special bags that they had made for Samuel loaded up with tons of candy. Like I said. They are the best!

Friday 's Finds

Now that we have a house I can actually start getting things to fit it.
I was getting so sick of having to wait because we were going to move again.
I'm sure you have heard me whine about it somewhere before.

Once a month we will get something bigger like side tables, a desk or whatever.
I usually grab a few small things too, a plant, a owl....

Pretty much obsessed with owls. I just think there adorable.
I have a fair amount of owl-ish things in my house now.

Were in the process of finishing Samuel's room off.
I need some book ends for his shelve... that I still have to get...
Yes. That's typical me. Wanting to buy things to go on a shelve that we don't even have.
But I can just picture it and know exactly what I want! haha.
My poor husband.

I came across these amazing book ends from Anthropologie. Of course they cost as much as my bed so I'm never going to get them. But I can dream can't I!?

And so the search continues!

Change

Sometimes we just have those months where things seem to change so much. They may seem minor but when your doing those same things every day, multiple times a day you defiantly notice when it changes.

1. This little guy is getting so good with his talking. It's just blowing my mind. The things he says, I literally am stunned every day. It's adorable.
2. He is doing pretty well with his potty training. We are starting to work on no diapers at night. I think I will feel very successful once this is done and he's going on his own.
3. We are hopefully done with soothers tonight. We have been cutting a piece off every night and tonight the last snip. It's actually been very hard on Samuel. He loves his soother more than me I'm pretty sure. So he is waking up all the time but Im sure in a few days it will pass. Every day he says " Mommy, it's more broken" Poor kid.
4. We have finally gotten out to our local library and are going at least once a week.
Why have we never gone there before!
It's all brand spanking new with so many things for the kids to do. You are aloud to eat in the library and they don't really mind kids being loud. It's so nice.
Samuel has finally started having an attention span for reading stories. So we take out a few books every week that he likes.
5. His manners are getting so good. Normally we have to tell him to say thank you ect ect. But lately he is just doing it all on his own. We went to my cousins for supper on friday and he goes up to her and her husband and say" Thank you auntie for the chicken.... and ICE CREAM! Yayyyy"

1. And this little chubber is already off soothers. He's an official thumb sucker. It's kinda nice not having to wake up and get soothers. Last month was horrible horrible horrible. He was awake every hour.
2. Someone is also sitting up, he has been for a little while. Haha, I finally have a normal sitter. Samuel couldn't sit up till he was like eight months. He just moved to much.
3. Nathan's got a pretty good mokawk going on. Might need a hair cut soon.
4. Going to start solids very soon. Just waiting for Ben to get home so he can see. It's kinda sad when you are the parent that works and miss all the firsts. So I'm gonna wait for him. Please don't be allergic to rice. Ekk. This part always freaks me out.
5. We have some bumps on the gums. I'm wondering when these little teeth are going to pop through. He's such a great baby that I haven't overly noticed the teething, minus the puddles of drool. He's pretty content as long as he is around people. I think he's the saddest when he can't see someone. He's very social.

As for us....

1. Ben has been working ten hour days pretty much since I last said how great his job is and how he get's home at 4:15pm. I guess I jinxed it. But that's okay. We could use the extra money for the winter house projects we have planned.
2. Finally vacuumed! Our vacuum has been broken for ever and we have been waiting for our new one to come in with air miles. So I finally just borrowed my sisters. It's so nice having clean carpets.
3. Ben and I both got iPhones. Neither of us have had a smart phone and I'm in love with it.
4. For the first time in our life we have actually been sticking to having a date once a month. We went bowling and for supper. It was actually so much fun. We were laughing the entire time and it was so nice to focus on just each other.
5. We are all sick again over here. We just got over our last colds about a week or so ago and bam! Colds again. So once again we have the humidifier out, vicks and tylenol. It's pretty lame. Sam's having a hard time with it since were getting rid of the soother at the same time. Nathan can't breath well and is waking up a few times in the night. But it's usually only bad for a few days so Im hoping by the weekend it's much better.
And praise the Lord. Samuel can finally blow his nose. That's making the boogers thing a little easier for one child at least.
